I salute and have (maybe) a confession

Riga United FC

Today we salute Riga United FC who was one of the first teams to donate a signed shirt to The Shirt, and that has helped me a lot after.

But I (maybe) have a confession.

I may have played a match for them under a fake Russian name when I was backpacking in Latvia in 2008. I did not if they get fined.

I may have told the storry  (again) - to the great players in the team - about my own strong professional career in England (the evening before) - just to wake up to a fine football shirt, socks, and borrowed boots - ready for the match.

We did win! Easy! and it's not maybe but for real that you have their link HERE! and the best Riga Event place HERE! where you will find your place to be and meet new friends.  They now the country and the city, and they love football.

Now I put you directly to the own words of team with a beautiful description, and a very good motto:

The clubs Latvian motto, "Vienoti Spelei" translates as "United for the game" and will be worn with pride on the clubs new strip, which was unveiled Wed, April 20th, 2007.

Our multi-national football team has joined the Latvian Amateur Football League (LAFL). The team could give Arsenal a good run for its money in terms of nationalities on its books with players from Latvia, Germany, England, Cameroon, Spain, Italy, Holland, Norway and Turkey to name just a few turning out for the side Building on the success of Riga Out theres football team the decision was made recently two establish Riga United FC, a name, which perfectly Sums up the whole essence and ethos of the new club. A cosmopolitan football team made up from signings around the world, Riga Out There FC unites tourists and locals, ex-Pats and Latvian, youth and 'experience' (old Gits) all wanting to play the beautiful game!
Riga United FC made its debut in the Latvian Amateur Football League in May 2007. In doing so Riga United made Latvian football history by becoming the first truly multi-national team to ever compete in the Latvian Amateur League.

The RUFC club crest has been chosen two reflect the image of Latvia's beautiful capital, together with the idea of a united Riga. The clubs Latvian motto, "Vienoti Spelei" translates as "United for the game" and will be worn with pride on the clubs new strip, which was unveiled Wed, April 20th, 2007

Good to see a small club giving such big support! Where are all the big clubs like Arsenal? Too busy making money to worry about this project, a man cycling to the world cup alone, and the World's refugees?
