The life after football
Hello Bjorn
Showing the nice phone call regarding a visit to Oldermannslaget at Porsgrunn and thanks for preliminary positive response to our request.
To help you get an impression of how we do get a bit of more information about our Oldermannslag.
Herøya FC's Oldermannslag is in its 18.år. We have always had a growing interest in the team and it is with pleasure that we now registers about 170 paying members. Of these, many now living out in the country, We are now what the Oldermenn call "home" Usually we are around 35 to 65 present on each hit.
The idea behind our Oldermannslag is to collect old comrades from the common boyhood days at Porsgrunn, for a nice get-together Friday night in the month. As you know, our teams an offer to the male part of Herøya people, but we feel that even our better halves have a positive outlook on our business in spite of the adoption ban. Our members are aged 40 years (minimum age) and older, with no limits. Our older members have passed the 90 and it is with pleasure we note that they all have a declared major advantage of our monthly gatherings. We have indeed found that the alleged generation gap among us is doing great. Our common background is that most of us are the children of the industrial development of Hydro's plant at Porsgrunn in the late twenties onwards. This created a community, a solidarity and care for each other, precisely the generation divide. It is against this background developed an environment in our Oldermannslag that many in the Branch's district envy us. In this context, we are also a little proud to have published two books on childhood and community Herøya from the 1920s onwards. They came out in, respectively, in June 2002 and March 2003. It is oldermennene himself has been responsible for writing and had chief responsibility in both books.
Oldermannslagets stated and agreed objectives are being offered to promote a good environment and constructive interaction. In this regard, it is thus that we try to invite people through their activity, either at the sporting level or in other areas can tell us about their experiences from their point of view. Something we would only get a glimpse of through the media.
We have over the years had many a happy moment together with our invited guests.
In addition to many local variables, we have had the pleasure of having as guests; Hjallis, "Nick"
Johansen, it is not unknown radio kåsør and author Øyvind Thorsen who have visited us on three occasions, the then parliamentary president Jorgen Kosmo, a former parliamentary representatives and the Minister Thorbjorn Berntsen and Finn Kristensen, a former trade union leader Yngve Haagensen, Rickard Herrmann (who was our honorary member for many friendly visits), the famous television musician Alf Blyverket, not forgetting our great saboteur of the war, Gunnar Sønsteby, Police Chief Rolf B. Wegner, and our great skate idol from the 1950-60 figure, Knut "Kuppern" Johannessen and Hroar rivers. Moreover, the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation's well-known Torkjell Berulfsen visited us on two occasions in 2007 and cultural celebrity Knut Buen visited us. Former President of the Football Association Per Ravn Omdal at our Christmas party December 18 and was followed by our eminent football pro Per Bredesen and former clan leader Vålerenga Anders Krystad, at the beginning of this year. Eventually, all these have been nice friends of our Oldermannslag.
In addition to our visiting kåsører we have a good dinner and socializing quality
evening on the drive plan.
We have our own husband by singing songs from their own song clips and solo performances, at times with great entertainment value (we think). For orientation it may be mentioned that our musical forces have released their own CDs.
As you know, it is an evening we invite you to share with us and as mentioned on the phone we think it is extra nice when our guests will find the opportunity to be with us some evening.
A program for about 1 hour fits very well with us.
Greetings
Jan H
